3DUX UNIVERSITY GOLD STAR PROJECT:
Eco-Park Design in New jersey
For this project, Mrs. Scoullos's students became eco-engineers and community visionaries! They took a look at their local park and reimagined it as a greener, more sustainable place for everyone to enjoy. 🌱☀️💡 She led students through the design process with the slideshow highlighted below and used the town website to research the site before designing their solutions
Mrs. D's Sideshow
The class brainstormed ways to make the park future-friendly—from choosing long-lasting materials to conserving energy and resources. Their redesigns featured everything from solar-powered parking lots and rooftop panels on the Cullen Center, to a mini wind farm, a pond water filter, compost bins, and even a mulch playground bursting with native plants and a community garden.
In the end, Mrs. S’s students showed how creativity and design thinking can spark real change. They didn’t just dream up cool features—they learned how to care for the planet and the people who use the park, now and in the future. 🌱☀️💡
We love how Mrs. Scoullos’s class used this project to connect STEM learning with real-world impact. By blending creativity, critical thinking, and sustainability, students gained the confidence to see themselves as problem-solvers and changemakers in their own community. This is exactly the kind of hands-on learning that empowers kids to imagine—and design—a better future. 🌍✨
