WELCOME TO GLOBAL FUTURES!
THE MISSION: A COMMUNITY CENTER, REIMAGINED
Your team is about to set off on a quest to research, design, and build a model of a new community center based on the needs of the local community, its culture, and a healthy dose of creativity.
Choose your hometown, allowing students an opportunity to learn about and become even more active members of their own community. Or your class can choose instead to take the global pathway and explore somewhere else in the world!

Join the 3DuxDesign Zoo STEM/PBL Phase II Pilot Study

In today’s rapidly shifting global landscape, it’s essential to create a school culture that values real, hands-on learning experiences that not only engage and excite students but also build the core competencies needed to thrive in a future driven by adaptability and innovation.
Research shows that play and project-based learning are powerful tools for developing these competencies, empowering students through authentic experiences with real-world applications. That’s why we created the 3DuxDesign Design-a-Zoo Challenge, a hands-on, project-based STEM experience where students step into real-world roles and work in teams to reimagine a community zoo. Along the way, they explore animal needs, environmental science, engineering, budgeting, and creative storytelling—while building core academic skills and future-ready mindsets.
Phase One of the Zoo Pilot was a huge success, with participating schools seeing measurable growth in math and science proficiency, improved collaboration and communication, and increased student agency, creativity, and engagement—especially among learners who typically struggle in traditional settings. Based on educator feedback and student outcomes, we’ve expanded and refined the program for Phase Two, now featuring enhanced educator supports, built-in literacy components, and a structure optimized for classroom time.
We’re now inviting new schools to apply for participation in the 2025–2026 school year pilot, open to grades 2–8 learners across traditional, special education, and TAG classrooms as well as microschool, homeschool, and enrichment programs.
